There is nothing to do . . .

How often have you said "There's nothing to do!"?
I'm guilty of repeating that same phrase over and over again every 2 days.

We slog the week away, look forward to the weekend and find there's nothing much for us to do at all, except perhaps the following that we are already so sick of:

1. Watch a movie
2. Sleep
3. Eat
4. Some form of exercise
5. The greatest of all - Shopping

Is that all there is to do in tiny puny Singapore?
A bigger minus would be having to fight the weekend throngs of people in Orchard or your friendly suburban shopping centres.

Is this a global phenomenon or is this only happening in Singapore?
I think it is a global phenomenon that is hardly a phenomenon.

Not because there is nothing to do here in Singapore but because we in Singapore are just people who aren't passionate about anything at all. Perhaps the only thing is food. And even then, check out the Singapore girls and you'll realise that there are fewer and fewer foodies around these days.

Check out the Australian beaches and you'll see they are passionate about their outdoor sports. They adore it. Fewer of them probably think they have nothing to do simply because of the "passion" they have.

Simply put, it is not that there is nothing to do, but more, there is nothing we WANT to do. I easily listed 5 things we can do in Singapore. There's plenty more to do as long as we make an effort to be creative, just like the rest of the world. We are spoilt. Spoilt consumers. Looking for that fresh, original activity.
