The 5 Languages of Love

A friend told me about this a couple of days ago.
The phrase "Language of love" never left my head. But as usual, it took me at least those couple of days to get down to checking it out.

I believe there is a certain truth to these 5 languages of love. It could jolly well put some of us right back on track in all the different relationships we try to manage in our everyday lives.

Gary Chapman's Five Languages of Love:

1) Words of Affirmation - verbal appreciation or encouragement

2) Quality Time - focusing all your energy on your mate. proximity doesn't count. or even a sympathetic listener, not a problem solver.

3) Receiving Gifts - visual symbols of love

4) Acts of Service - doing things to let your mate feel loved. could mean stepping out of the stereotype. must be done out of love, not obligation.

5) Physical Touch - big or small acts of affection.

Knowing the 5 probably won't help. What will help would be finding out which language matters most to your other half so you can allow him/her to feel more loved than ever.

Not finding out will not get you anywhere, even if you could memorise the 5 above.

This can only be for the better.
